50th Anniversary Celebrations

Beltana Bowls Club turned 50 in 2019

All events were proudly supported by the Clarence City Council’s Community Grants Program.

Events included:

Friday Mixed Triples – Fri 22 Feb 2019 at 12.15pm

Official opening of anniversary weekend by Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, AC, Governor of Tasmania at 1pm. Prizes were on offer and a huge afternoon tea. Her Excellency and ‘Snow’ Morgan put the first bowls down for the start of the weekend celebrations.

Long Table Breakfast – Sat 23 Feb 2019 from 8am – 10am

A hot cooked breakfast was served before everyone went off to their pennant games. Very cool weather didn’t deter about 60 people turning up for breakfast. Bob Cashion braved the cold to cook sausages and bacon which were well received by the hungry guests.

Sunday Carvery – Sun 24 Feb 2019 at 12.30 for 1pm

Guest speakers, lots of prizes, hot carvery lunch, memorabilia on display and more. The birthday cake was cut by the older and youngest members of the club – Snowy Morgan and Seth Harper. It was great to see special guests attending including our very valuable sponsors.

Barefoot Bowls 50s Theme – Tue 26 Feb 2019 at 5.30pm

Barefoot bowlers dressed up in their 50s best outfits. Lots of games and prizes were on offer. Jenny Cashion took out the best dressed prize. You can find more information on Barefoot Bowls here.
