Beltana Pennant Teams

Beltana has several pennant teams playing in Wednesday Pennant, Ladies Thursday Pennant and Saturday Pennant.

If you would like to play pennant bowls, come and visit the club and see how you find us. The next step is to become a member of the club.

Uniforms

Wearing of club uniforms is a requirement when participating in all Bowls Tasmania South and Bowls Tasmania controlled events and also for some club events. Polo tops, jackets and caps in club colours are available at the clubhouse. Please see the Secretary or a Board member.

Other items such as shorts, trousers, socks and shoes etc. with the approved Bowls Australia bowls logo are available at several outlets.

Coaches and Umpires

The club is always in need of more qualified officials to officiate at games, particularly those games that are allocated to our greens and run by Bowls Tasmania South and Bowls Tasmania.  There are coaching and officiating courses held by Bowls Tasmania in the South for members who would like to assist the club by gaining their accreditations.

There are courses held for markers, measurers, umpires, coaches and selectors at various times throughout the year. Please contact the Secretary or any board member for further details.

Coaching and mentoring for current and new players is available through the club.

Practice

Practice makes your game much better and helps you keep continuously improving. There are club practice days but you may also practice alone when you need extra time. The greens are generally available anytime for practice providing this does not clash with times the greens are closed or when they have been reserved for a pennant or club games etc.

Protocol on Game Days

Generally, practice is not permitted within one-half hour of the scheduled commencement of games. Players should familiarise themselves with Conditions of Play for 2023-2024 for further information.

Rainy Days – Contact

If there is a possibility of cancellation of play due to rain or any other occurrence be sure to contact the club and someone will be able to advise you of a change in play arrangements or cancellation.

Travel Arrangements

It is the responsibility of players to ensure that they arrive at playing venues by the appointed time. Carpooling between players is encouraged. If traveling direct – there is a small notice board adjacent to the Rotary Clubs Storeroom where you can list your name, which ensures that your teammates and your skip are fully aware of your travel arrangements.

Home Duty Roster

Each week the Selection committee will allocate one rink of players the responsibility of undertaking the “Home Duties” when playing at home. Duties of these players include filling urns and putting ice into cold water drinking facilities as well as raising/lowering of flags, inspection and setting up/cleaning up after games. The Duty Rink is also responsible for ensuring sanitiser is at various places around the club. Please check with a Board Member if you are unsure of what to do. Duty Roster players should arrive at the club about one hour earlier to ensure that there is sufficient time to complete the required tasks.
