COVID

Stage 2 Restrictions

We are reopening!

Exciting times ahead as the club will open its doors to you on Wednesday 10 June at 2pm.

We want to assure you all it is a safe place to come and visit. The bar and clubhouse has been thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom. It’s ok, it doesn’t smell like a hospital. The bar staff have all undergone training in preparation for opening and abiding by Public Health and Bowls Tasmania Return to Play requirements.

Beltana will look slightly different to what you have been used to but the same friendly vibe will be here, the companionship will be the same, the chatter and your mates will be the same.

The club has to abide by requirements of this new Post COVID-19 world we are living in and that’s a small price to pay for keeping everyone safe and getting life back to a new normal. You don’t have to remember all of the conditions below as there will be signs everywhere in the club to help you with reminders about restrictions.

So here is what you need to know:

Inside

  • There is a register at the front door to put your name on. This helps with contact tracing if there was an outbreak. If you enter through a different door, please go and place your name on the register.
  • We are limited to 40 people so there will be only 40 seats in the clubrooms so if you enter and see a spare seat, you are welcome to relax and enjoy your time. If there are no seats available, you will need to leave the clubrooms or go outside and wait for a spare seat to become available. Please do not move seats around as they have been placed to ensure there is 1.5 metres between everyone.
  • Sanitiser will be EVERYWHERE so please make sure you use it.
  • Entries to the club cannot be blocked or where people congregate so there must be no smoking outside the front of the club. The designated smoking area going forward is the gazebo which is a great spot as you are covered from the weather and get a good view of the greens so that’s the place to be for smokers.
  • There will be increased activity in cleaning but the staff will work around you.

Bar

  • There will be a designated ordering area. Once you have ordered, you move to the end of the bar near the main entrance which will be the collect drinks area. There will be spaces for three people to wait in each area. Please look at the marks on the floor. Please be patient and respectful of your bar staff. This is a new way of working for them too.
  • Once you collect your drink, you must return to your seat. This is very important to follow as this is a Public Health Direction and a condition of us opening.
  • You cannot stand at the bar and have your drink.
  • We will prefer that you use your card to tap and pay. However if that is not possible, we will take cash.

Outside

The same conditions apply as for stage 1. However we can now have 20 players on the green.

  • The register for outside will be at the back entrance where you pay for games.
  • There is santiser outside so please use it.
  • If you want to come inside after your game, please see above but be mindful of whether the seats are all full.
  • If you see 20 players on the greens, please do not play or practice. You are welcome to wait outside away from the green or come inside if there are seats available.

Find out more on the outside requirements here.

Overall, conditions apply that you would all be very familiar with, so please do not visit the club if:

  • You are unwell
  • You have been directed to be in quarantine or self isolation.
  • You have recently had a COVID-19 test and have not received your results. This is usually only a day or two.
  • You have entered Tasmania within the last 14 days.
